As the world reflects on the impact that COVID-19 has had on older people in the context of the Decade of Healthy Ageing advocating for appropriate ethical frameworks and planning alternatives of older adults when critical care is not available is more important than ever before. During a global pandemic where resources are scarce, ethical frameworks are essential to ensure older adults and other vulnerable groups receive the care they warrant.
